Due to a software update, some of your encrypted lockers might have become outdated. This guide will explain how to update your lockers in NordLocker macOS and Windows applications if you get the error message "Some lockers are outdated".
Why are these updates necessary? We always strive to make our service work faster, become more stable, and overall better, so our development team is constantly working on shipping new features, bug fixes, and other improvements. In order to make this process as smooth as possible, we release application updates twice a month. This means that if you were trying to access the NordLocker application once a month or even less often, you most certainly got at least one update queued. This is a mandatory step for our users to get the latest features, bug fixes, and most recent security improvements.
Updating lockers on macOS
Make sure to keep the NordLocker application running while your lockers are updating.
Depending on the version of lockers that you currently have, you will see one of the messages below.
If you wish to migrate your lockers later, click Remind me later button. You will be asked to update your lockers the next time you unlock the NordLocker application or if you click a warning icon next to the outdated locker.
- Select Update Lockers to start updating your lockers.
- Once updating starts, you will see the message "This locker is being updated" and the progress at the bottom right corner.
- If the update is successful, you will see a message at the bottom right corner "Your lockers have been updated". In case the update is not successful, you will see a message asking you to try again. Make sure NordLocker is open and you have a stable internet connection and try updating again. If you are still not able to update please contact our Customer Success team.
