How to make NordLocker files available offline on iOS

In this article, you will learn how to securely access and manage your NordLocker files on an iOS device without an internet connection.

Note: The NordLocker iOS application can be unlocked without an Internet connection if your NordAccount is logged in to NordLocker while online. Otherwise, access to the NordLocker app while offline is not possible.

How to access files offline

In order to access files without an Internet connection, make sure you have completed these steps while being online:

1. Open the NordLocker application, log in to your NordAccount, and unlock the application.
2. Tap on the "Three-dots" button, located in the upper-right corner, and choose the "Select" option.
3. After selecting the chosen files, select the "Make available offline" button, located in the lower-left corner.
4. Alternatively, long-press on the chosen file, and select the "Make available offline" button.
5. Wait for the blue spinning icon to change to a green checkmark, indicating the download is completed.
6. Afterward, you will be able to access these files while being offline.

How to export files

1. Open the NordLocker application, log in to your NordAccount, and unlock the application.
2. Tap on the "Three-dots" button, located in the upper-right corner, and choose the "Select" option.
3. After selecting the chosen files marked with a green check mark, select the "Export" button, located in the lower-left corner.
4. Alternatively, long-press on the chosen file marked with a green check mark, and select the "Export" button.

How to remove files from offline file section

1. Open the NordLocker application, log in to your NordAccount, and unlock the application.
2. Tap on the "Three-dots" button, located in the upper-right corner, and choose the "Select" option.
3. After selecting the chosen files marked with a green check mark, select the "Remove from device" button, located at the center of the bottom menu.
4. Alternatively, long-press on the chosen file with a green check mark, and select the "Remove from device" button.

Additional tips

• Uninstalling the NordLocker app will remove all offline files from your device storage, but they will remain safe in your NordLocker cloud.
• Files made available offline are stored in a secure app sandbox and protected by system-level encryption (NSFileProtectionComplete).
• If an offline file is modified on another device, NordLocker will automatically sync the latest version to your iOS device once you are back online.
