When you log in to your NordLocker account for the first time, you are prompted to create a Master Password and save your generated Recovery Key. We cannot stress enough how important your Recovery Key is. If you ever forget your Master Password, the Recovery Key is the only way to recover it. No ifs, no buts, no maybes. Without a Recovery Key, no one will be able to access your files.
And since it’s that important, it makes sense to find a good place to store it. Password managers are a good option. Or, if you're more old-school, you can print it out. If you do the latter, make sure to print at least two copies and keep them in separate places.
With that being said, you will be directed to this window after you set a Master Password, save the key and agree with the terms. The provided Recovery Key is the only way to reset your Master Password.
In case you have lost the saved code, but you are still able to log in, you can set up a new Recovery Key and it will act as a new code to reset your Master Password.
To reset it, go to Account in the menu and click Reset recovery key.
