Guide for NordLocker - Windows

Downloading NordLocker

To download the NordLocker application for Windows, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to the NordLocker download website.
2. Click download app:
   
   
   
   
3. Choose the location for the installer and click save:
   
   
   
   

After completing the steps, the NordLocker installer will have been downloaded.

Installing NordLocker

To begin installing your NordLocker application on your Windows device, follow along below:

1. Open the installer.
2. Select the location for the NordLocker application and click next:
   
   

Once you have followed the on-screen instructions, your NordLocker application will be ready to use.

Uploading files to NordLocker

To upload your files to the NordLocker app, use the following steps:

1. Launch your NordLocker application.
2. If you are a new user, create a Nord Account and sign in.
   
   
   
   
3. You will be redirected to your browser, to sign in and then back to the app to unlock your cloud.
   
   
   
   
4. Open the NordLocker interface in the taskbar.
5. Click open files:

   If you have multiple folders uploaded already, it should look like this:
   
   
   
   
6. To import a file, drag and drop or copy and paste it into the folder:
   
   
7. Your files will now sync with the cloud, and they will be secured.
   
   

Frequently asked questions

Can I use NordLocker to edit my encrypted files?
We try not to disrupt your usual working habits. Lockers look and feel just like regular folders on your computer. Just like with folders, you can launch files from inside your locker using the NordLocker application's User Interface.

You can continue writing, editing photos, or watching movies - NordLocker encrypts and decrypts files in the background, so you can work as you’re used to.

How many devices can be connected to NordLocker simultaneously?
There is no limitation on simultaneous connections over NordLocker application, as it does not require connection to a server as per NordVPN. You can have as many devices logged to the NordLocker application as you want.

Can someone decrypt my files without my knowledge?
You’re in control of who can decrypt your files. If you don’t give access to anyone, only you can open your encrypted files with your NordLockery Key.

NordLocker has zero knowledge about your data, so there’s no way we could access the content of your files.
