Losing Cloud password and Recovery Key
Due to NordLocker’s end-to-end encryption, we never store your Cloud password or recovery key. If you have forgotten your Cloud password and lost your recovery key, unfortunately, there is no way to access your encrypted files as NordLocker never stores your data. In this case, we suggest deleting your account and creating a new one to continue using NordLocker.
How to save and store your passwords
We recommend to save and store your passwords in a trusted password manager. You can save both your password and your recovery key with NordPass password manager for free.
Generating a new recovery key
To generate a new recovery key, log in to your account and confirm your cloud password. To update your recovery key from the settings screen, follow the steps below:
- Open your app.
- Go to the password & help section:
- Click reset:
- Provide your cloud password:
- Save or copy your new recovery key and click on update & save recovery key:
Once finished with the steps, your new Cloud recovery key will be saved.
