How to set up login via Biometrics?

Keeping your files secure shouldn't be complicated. In this article, you'll learn how to set up biometric login on your NordLocker mobile app to unlock the browser app quickly and safely.

 

How to set up biometric login on mobile app

The biometric unlock feature is activated through the iOS or Android NordLocker mobile application. Find it on the App Store or Google Play Store. The following steps will guide you through the process of enabling biometric login:

  1. Open the downloaded NordLocker mobile application and log in.

  2. Navigate to profile:

    Group 51.png

  3. Select settings:

    Group 50.png
  4. Toggle use biometrics to unlock on:

  5. Enter your Cloud password to enable biometric login:

  6. Biometric login is now enabled.

 

How to set up biometric login from the web app

The biometric unlock feature can be activated both from the unlocked and locked web application. 

 

Unlocked web app

If you're logged in to your NordLocker web application and your Cloud is unlocked, follow these steps to set up biometric login:

  1. Go to profile:

  2. Select settings:

  3. Press on set up device:

    Group 54.png

  4. Scan the QR code to download the NordLocker mobile app if you don’t have it yet and enable biometrics in its settings:

Locked web app

If you're logged in to your NordLocker web application but your Cloud is locked, follow these steps to set up biometric login:

  1. Press on the set up phone unlock:

  2. Scan the QR code to download the NordLocker mobile app if you don’t have it yet and enable biometrics in its settings:

How to unlock browser app with phone biometrics

Once biometric unlocking is enabled on your mobile device, follow these steps to unlock the web app using biometrics:

  1. After enabling biometrics on your phone, you'll see an unlock with biometrics button on the web app. Click it:

  2. A security code will be sent to your mobile app:

  3. Open the mobile application, verify that the code matches the one displayed on the web app, and confirm:

Note: if you don't have your phone with you, you can still unlock the web app using your Cloud password.

 

How to disable biometric login

Disabling biometric login follows the same steps as enabling it. Simply toggle off use biometrics to unlock in the mobile app:
